Goodness of T Tests for \chimeric" Alternatives 1

چکیده

In this paper we discuss nonparametric goodness of t theory for alternatives , which, in practical terms, manifest themselves not as a \smooth" and \small" deviation \everywhere", but as still not big systematic \stains" or highly oscillating patterns as compared to the regular null hypothesis.

Global power functions of goodness of t tests

It is shown that the global power function of any nonparametric test is at on balls of alternatives except for alternatives coming from a nite dimensional sub-space. The present benchmark is here the upper one-sided (or two-sided) envelope power function. It turns out that also the level points are far away from the corresponding Neyman Pearson test level points except for a nite number of orth...

Goodness-of-fit of the distribution of time-to-first-occurrence in recurrent event models.

Imperfect repair models are a class of stochastic models that deal with recurrent phenomena. This article focuses on the Block, Borges, and Savits (1985) age-dependent minimal repair model (the BBS model) in which a system that fails at time t undergoes one of two types of repair: with probability p(t), a perfect repair is performed, or with probability 1-p(t), a minimal repair is performed. Th...

On distribution-free goodness-of-fit testing of exponentiality

Local, or better, contiguous alternatives are the closest alternatives against which it is still possible to have some power. With this in mind we would like to think of goodness-of-fit tests as those which have some power against all, or a huge majority, of local alternatives. Tests of that kind are often based on nonlinear functionals, with a complicated asymptotic null distribution. Therefor...

THE m OUT OF n BOOTSTRAP AND GOODNESS OF FIT TESTS WITH DOUBLY CENSORED DATA

This paper considers the use of the m out of n bootstrap (Bickel, GG oetze, and van Zwet, 1994) in setting critical values for Cram er-von Mises goodness of t tests with doubly censored data. We show that, as might be expected, the usual n out of n nonparametric bootstrap fails to estimate the null distribution of the test statistic. We show that if the m out of n bootstrap with m ! 1, m = o(n)...

Distribution Free Goodness-of-fit Tests for Linear Processes

This article proposes goodness-of-...t tests based on a linear transformation of Barlett’s Tp¡process, which converges weakly to the standard Brownian motion under the null hypothesis, in the lines suggested by Khmaladze (1981). We show that the proposed test is capable to detect contiguous alternatives converging to the null at rate n¡1=2: A Monte Carlo study illustrates the performance of the...
